Nvidia GTX-280 Price in india is $1139

While i was browsing digg.com , this particular link has surprised me.

They were many digg users commenting about the price drop and performance comparison of both the nvidia GTX-280 and AMD-ATI 4870 graphics cards.well i agree with most of them on Price drop and other factors, you really feel embarrsed when you go though my story :)
Its was quite amazing that everyone will expecting price drops of newly launched product after a certain period of time.

i just checked the newegg.com site for the latest price they have been offering for GTX-280 and i was not surprised to see the $500-$600 price range except PNY's GTX 280 which falls in the range $479-499. see the below screen shot. Now i was really intrested to find out if any distributor is selling GTX-280 in india. To my surprise XFX was offering a 1GB GTX-280 in india, here's the link .

This will really blowout your mind, they are offering the card for Rs.49,000 which is somewhere approximately $1139 (considering $1= Rs43 which seems to be current exchage rates )i have even tried to look into the nvidia home page and see if they have set up anything similar to their US website, which will redirect to you a online distribution site like newegg.com .

there were no sites instead they have listed out their authorised distributors and workstation partners.

This seems to be for other models like 9600GT , 8800GT , 9800GTX and few more graphics cards of AMD-ATI .

even today i dont understand why there's a huge price gap between US and other countries. we can take into the consideration of shipping costs but does the shipping costs really a matter for such a huge price difference, or is there any manipulation of market ?

only time and nvdia can answer this :(

diggers and commenters please mention how much you have paid for your graphics card in your country !
